CARLITOS — the alter ego of Alex Duvall that Miami cannot stop talking about — was detained in the early hours of Saturday morning in the grand lobby of the Fontainebleau Hotel following what authorities described as a "heated discussion" with a group of unidentified men. No names were provided. No explanation was given.

Authorities confirmed his release two hours later, with no charges filed. He emerged adjusting his lapels with deliberate calm, lit a cigarette without breaking stride, and asked the nearest staff member to return his glass.

No one saw the other men leave the premises. Hotel management declined to comment.

Carlitos — introduced to Miami with the release of "Mamacita" — has quickly become the city's most discussed new figure. As one hotel regular put it: "He walks in and the room changes."

"He came out adjusting his lapels.
Asked for his glass back.
Nobody saw the other men leave."
